Senior Software Engineer – Dynamics 365 & Power Platform
Federal Government Agency | Canberra, ACT (Hybrid) | 12-month contract 2 × 12-month extensions | EL1 equivalent | Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain)
About the opportunity
Kora Advisory is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a federal government agency in a newly created role.
You'll be part of a small, high-performing IT project team that works closely with business teams. You'll build and improve solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, write clean, productive code, and provide technical leadership to other engineers. This role suits someone who does well in a small, collaborative team and cares about work with public purpose.
Key details
- Start date: Monday 5 October 2026 (indicative)
- Contract: 12 months initially, with two possible 12-month extensions
- Level: Senior, EL1 equivalent
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Location: ACT, hybrid. You can split your time between the office and home, and ACT-based candidates are strongly preferred.
What you'll do
- Design, build and maintain solutions across Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages
- Develop front-end experiences with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS and Vue.js
- Build and integrate backend services using C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL
- Deliver integrations using Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate
- Work within established architectures, patterns and reusable components, using Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD
- Provide technical leadership and take responsibility for the quality and functionality of your team's software
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams
What you'll bring (essential)
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages
- Strong front-end skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, with experience in contemporary frameworks such as Vue.js
- Strong full-stack skills in C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL, including integrating front-end applications with backend services
- Experience with Azure and Power Platform integration technologies such as API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate
- Experience working with established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components, including Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with a track record of working well in multidisciplinary delivery teams
Nice to have (desirable)
- Experience with AI and intelligent automation, such as Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI or agent-based solutions
- Relevant Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure or AI
Security clearance
You must be able to obtain a Baseline security clearance. This generally requires Australian citizenship. If you already hold a clearance, please tell us.
