About the role The Senior Registrar or Registrar (Fellow) - Adult Congenital Heart Disease provides advanced clinical training and experience in the management of adults living with congenital heart disease and survivors of congenital heart surgery. Based within the Cardiology Program at The Prince Charles Hospital, the fellowship offers exposure to inpatient and outpatient care, complex congenital cardiac conditions, cardiac surgery and post-operative management, arrhythmia services, echocardiography, interventional cardiology and obstetric cardiology.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior medical staff to manage patient care, participate in specialist clinics, coordinate investigations and treatment plans, and contribute to multidisciplinary decision-making. The role also includes teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, participating in research projects, contributing to patient education, and supporting the delivery of high-quality congenital heart disease services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care for adults with congenital heart disease under specialist supervision.
Participate in Adult Congenital Heart Disease clinics and coordinate investigations, treatment plans and ongoing patient management.
Contribute to the cardiology on-call roster, registrar teaching program and multidisciplinary clinical discussions.
Assist with the education and mentoring of junior medical staff, students, patients and their families.
Support cardiology research activities, clinical audits and the effective administration of patient care services.
