You’ll have the opportunity to stretch yourself as you take on projects from start to finish. From design and tender to commissioning and transitioning, your work will ensure a successful collaboration and outcome for everyone involved.
In this role, you'll:
Manage a portfolio of developer-led road infrastructure projects from concept design through to construction completion and asset handover
Act as Transport's primary representative for developers, consultants and contractors, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with approved design, technical, environmental and operational requirements
Coordinate the review and approval of planning proposals, concept and detailed designs, traffic management plans, construction staging and other project deliverables across a range of internal technical disciplines
Monitor project scope, risk, program and budget obligations, identifying and resolving issues that may impact delivery outcomes or the operation of the state road network
Work closely with internal stakeholders including road design, traffic operations, safety, environment, maintenance, structures and network management and asset maintenance teams to obtain specialist advice and achieve project outcomes
Negotiate practical and commercially sound outcomes with developers and their representatives while protecting Transport's interests and ensuring long-term asset performance
We have multiple full-time permanent opportunities within our Developer Works and Renewables team
Developer Works Locations can be based statewide including, but not limited to: (Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst, Parkes or Grafton) –
This team manages developer-funded infrastructure projects that interface with the State Road Network, including residential subdivisions, industrial developments, commercial precincts, major road upgrades and other third-party works
Developer Works Renewables Locations can be based in either Sydney or Newcastle with a requirement to attend the Sydney EnergyCo office once per week
This team manages the transport infrastructure interfaces associated with major renewable energy and transmission projects across NSW, ensuring safe and effective integration with the State Road Network For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack
About you
You are an experienced project manager with a background in civil infrastructure, transport, roads, construction or development delivery
You have demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities, stakeholder expectations and delivery deadlines
You possess strong communication and negotiation skills and are comfortable engaging with developers, consultants, contractors, government agencies and internal technical specialists to achieve project outcomes
You can interpret engineering and construction documentation, understand project risks and make informed decisions that balance network outcomes, safety, customer impacts and delivery objectives
You have experience managing infrastructure, transport, development, utilities or construction projects through planning, design and delivery phases
Essential requirements
Appropriate trade or tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience
While not essential a current Class C Driver Licence is desirable as there will be a requirement to attend work sites on occasion
