Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a full-time, in office role based in Penrith, NSW. This role is responsible for managing complex tax compliance and preparation for individuals and businesses, including reviewing returns, advising on tax planning strategies, and ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, performing detailed accounting reconciliations, and identifying opportunities to optimize tax positions while maintaining compliance.

Accountant will collaborate with clients to explain tax outcomes, provide clear recommendations,
and support their broader financial goals. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, contributing to process improvements, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax and accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in tax-related areas, including Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and general Tax advisory.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, with solid understanding of Accounting principles.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA) highly regarded.
- Experience in public practice or a similar accounting environment, with a focus on individual and business tax.
- Ability to interpret and apply current tax legislation, and to communicate complex information clearly to clients.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to mentor colleagues and contribute positively to a team-oriented culture.
