Role Description This is a full time, on-site SIL (Supported Independent Living) Support Worker role based in Lake Haven, NSW. The SIL Support Worker will support people living in shared or independent accommodation with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, household chores, and community participation. The role involves implementing individual support plans, promoting choice and independence, and assisting with medication prompts and health-related appointments as required.

The worker will contribute to a safe and respectful environment, maintain accurate documentation and incident reports, and follow safeguarding and quality standards. The role also requires effective communication with clients, families,



and colleagues, as well as participation in team meetings, training, and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience as a Support Worker or in a similar disability, mental health, or community care role.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills to build trust, provide person-centered support, and work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, duty of care, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and risk management procedures.
- Ability to provide basic technical support related to client care (e.g., using electronic care systems, incident reporting tools, and communication devices).
- Relevant qualification in disability support, community services, aged care, or a related field (or working toward such qualifications).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and valid driver’s license.
- Capacity to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, and to perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Respectful, inclusive approach to people of all backgrounds, cultures, identities, and abilities.
