Your Role
As a Midwife/Remote Area Nurse within this Aboriginal Health Service, you will be working in a highly autonomous and diverse role, providing frontline primary health care services to remote Aboriginal communities across East Arnhem Land. You will work as part of a team delivering a broad scope of care including emergency presentations, triage, chronic disease management, child and maternal health, health assessments, care planning, immunisations and health promotion.



The role often combines clinic-based care with outreach and community engagement, requiring nurses to build strong relationships with local Yolŋu communities and work in a culturally safe and respectful manner.

Due to the remote nature of the communities, you are often relied upon for advanced clinical decision-making and the ability to manage a wide variety of presentations, making it an incredibly rewarding role if you are a nurse seeking meaningful work, clinical variety and the opportunity to genuinely impact community health outcomes.

Essential Criteria

- AHPRA registration with no restrictions - dual registration required
- REC, MEC, ALS, NT ISTAT certificate or willingness to obtain
- Current Manual Driver's License
- At least (3) years of post-graduate experience with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently, and participate in afterhours emergency calls and first response)
- Minimum 2 years recent Midwifery experience in a community setting
- Willing to travel in small charter planes, and the ability to drive a 4WD
- Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa,



or New Zealand Citizenship)
