Track Machine Operator | Tamper & Regulator Roster: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off Employment Type: Casual with potential to transition to permanent

Cat5 Rail is seeking experienced Track Machine Operators / Tamper & Regulator Operators to join our mobile Rail Operations team. You will operate specialised rail resurfacing and track maintenance equipment across multiple Pilbara sites while supporting inspections, servicing, maintenance and breakdown activities. We are particularly interested in operators with hands-on experience across Tamper, Regulator, 09-3X Tamper and Unimat 4S equipment.
Key Responsibilities

- Operate Tamper, Regulator and specialised track machines
- Operate rail resurfacing equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct pre-starts, machinery inspections and performance checks
- Support scheduled and reactive machine maintenance
- Identify and report equipment faults
- Assist with breakdowns and urgent repairs
- Complete operational, inspection and maintenance documentation
- Travel between operational sites as part of our mobile rail team
- Work closely with operations and maintenance crews
- Maintain compliance with rail safety standards, rules and procedures

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience as a Track Machine Operator
- Experience operating Tamper and/or Regulator equipment
- Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure minimum
- Relevant Track Machine Operator National Qualifications
- TLIC2054 and/or TLIC3045
- Experience operating 09-3X Tamper and/or Unimat 4S Tampers




- Experience within rail resurfacing or track maintenance operations
- Current unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence or higher
- Strong understanding of rail safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a mobile rail operations team
- Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening

Highly Regarded

- HR Driver's Licence
- Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure
- 4WD Training / Operate Vehicles in the Field
- Provide First Aid & CPR
- Rail Track Certifier qualification
- Previous Pilbara or heavy-haul rail experience
- Mining or remote-site experience
- Experience operating Plasser rail equipment
