Track Machine Operator | Electrical Roster: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off Employment Type: Casual with potential to transition to permanent

Cat5 Rail is seeking an experienced Track Machine Operator with an Electrical Trade Qualification to join our mobile Rail Operations team. This is a hands-on position combining track machine operation, electrical maintenance, fault finding and breakdown support across specialised rail resurfacing equipment. Working across multiple Pilbara rail sites, you will help maintain the safety, reliability and performance of our specialist rail plant. Key Responsibilities

- Operate specialised track machines and rail resurfacing equipment
- Perform scheduled and reactive electrical maintenance
- Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs
- Respond to breakdowns and minimise machine downtime
- Conduct pre-starts, inspections and performance testing
- Assist with multi-trade maintenance activities
- Complete inspection, fault and maintenance documentation
- Travel between operational sites as part of our mobile rail team
- Maintain compliance with rail safety standards and procedures

Essential Requirements

- Electrical Trade Qualification
- Proven experience as a Track Machine Operator
- Minimum 2 years' mobile equipment or rollingstock maintenance experience
- Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure minimum
- TLIC2054 and TLIC3045 Track Machine Operator qualifications
- Experience operating 09-3X Tamper and/or Unimat 4S Tampers




- Strong electrical fault finding and maintenance experience
- Current unrestricted C Class Driver's Licence or higher
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and maintenance documentation
- Strong knowledge of rail safety standards and procedures
- Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening

Highly Regarded

- HR Driver's Licence
- Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure
- Rail Track Certifier qualification
- Pilbara, mining or remote rail experience
- Experience with Plasser track machines and rail resurfacing equipment
