Why You’ll Love This Role
You’ll be an integral member of the Child Health Outreach Program, working within a multidisciplinary team to support the health and development of Aboriginal children aged 0–5 years.
The position has a strong case management and community health focus, with a combination of clinic-based and outreach work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive child health and developmental assessments, making appropriate referrals and following up on care
- Maintaining immunisation schedules and supporting families to access appropriate health services
- Supporting children living with chronic health conditions
- Working closely with families, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, doctors, visiting allied health professionals and other services
Life in the Community
You'll be living approximately 1.5 hours from Alice Springs via sealed road, giving you the prospect to head into Alice Springs when needed and enjoy everything Central Australia has to offer.
Alice Springs is easily accessible for day trips, grocery shopping, medical and specialist appointments, shopping and airport access.
Selection Criteria
To be considered for this position, you will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current Immuniser Certificate
- Experience working in child health within a primary health care setting
- Postgraduate qualification in Child Health or currently working towards one
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Ability to drive a manual 4WD or willingness to learn
- Full Australian working rights – Australian/New Zealand Citizen, Permanent Resident or current valid visa with unrestricted working rights
