Build more than housing, help shape connected, thriving communities where everyone belongs.
Imagine a role where every action you take helps someone feel safe, secure and supported. A home is more than bricks and mortar, it is the foundation for stability, dignity and hope. As a Community Housing Officer, you'll be at the heart of this mission, helping sustain tenancies, strengthen communities and positively impact lives.
With an ambitious 2024-2029 Strategic Plan focused on Homes, Community, Capability and Sustainability, the organisation continues to build the capacity, systems and resources needed to support future growth while maintaining the high-quality service for which it is known.
This position is dynamic and people-focused. Your day will never look the same. One moment you may be conducting an inspection for a new tenant, the next reviewing rent eligibility or responding to a call for support. You'll manage tenancy data with precision, because accurate information drives better outcomes for tenants and ensures compliance within a highly regulated sector. You'll navigate complex tenancy situations with empathy and professionalism, always guided by legislation, policy and a commitment to fairness.
Success in this role requires more than technical know-how. It calls for resilience, patience and a genuine desire to help. You'll need to be adaptable, ready to balance competing priorities, respond to changing circumstances and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcome. Initiative is important,
but equally valued is a willingness to ask questions, learn and contribute positively to a supportive team environment.
You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values open communication, kindness and humour, even on the tougher days. With manageable portfolios and high service standards, the focus is always on delivering quality outcomes for tenants and maintaining strong community relationships. Support is readily available through clear reporting lines and an approachable leadership team committed to helping staff succeed.
This is a part-time, on-site role working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (25 hours across these three days), offering consistency and routine while equipping you with the tools needed to succeed, including use of a company vehicle for site visits. You'll gain real satisfaction from knowing your work makes a meaningful difference in the community every day.
Community and social housing experience will be highly regarded, along with demonstrated experience in tenancy and/or property management. An understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act is essential, as is the ability to apply legislation with compassion, sound judgement and consistency. Experience supporting people with complex needs, combined with strong administration, record-keeping and customer service skills, will position you well for success.
This is an opportunity to contribute to something bigger: creating homes, building communities and changing lives.
