CNC Laser Operator / Supervisor – Wacol

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-owned metal fabrication business based in Wacol, with over 35 years of experience in the industry. About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Laser Operator/Supervisor to join their team. This role suits someone who is not only confident operating CNC laser equipment to a high standard, but who can also step into a leadership capacity — overseeing day-to-day production, supporting and guiding other operators, and helping maintain quality and efficiency across the shop floor.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Operating and programming CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal components
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Supervising and supporting a small team of operators on shift
- Monitoring quality, nesting efficiency, and material utilisation
- Troubleshooting machine issues and liaising with maintenance as required
- Maintaining a safe, clean and productive workshop environment
About You
- Proven CNC laser operating experience (metal fabrication/sheet metal industry)
- Experience or genuine capability to step into a supervisory role
- Strong drawing interpretation and attention to detail
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well within a small team
- Forklift licence highly regarded but not essential
