We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Officer to support the assembly and testing of advance electronic and electrical equipment.
This role will be based in Orchard Hills-Sydney. You will work alongside highly skilled professionals in a collaborative and fast-paced environment that drives the success of Australia’s defence capability.
About the role:
As a Technical Officer, this role will see you:
- Assemble electronic and mechanical components in accordance with assembly drawings, specification and/or schematics.
- Conduct minor mechanical repairs and modifications - such as drilling; threading, glueing and cutting of wood and metal.
- Test equipment and subsystems according to test procedures by using common test tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and analysers.
- Develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation associated with assembly and production.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and problem solving associated with components parts of a sub-system.
- Maintain records, such as as-built configurations of equipment and test logs.
- Assist in test, acceptance and set to work of hardware at a factory level.
What you'll Bring:
- Certificate IV or equivalent in Electronics, Mechanical or Manufacturing related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in assembling and interconnecting electronic components to form sub-systems and systems to perform specified functions.
- Experience in delivery of instruction or training and communicating to groups.
- Experience in conducting fault diagnosis and fault finding and resolution in electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience working within an electronic assembly & test environment including knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-A-610.
- Ability to carry out inspections and adhere to strict quality requirements.
International Training in Norway
As part of the role, successful candidates may have the opportunity to travel to Norway for specialised training. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside KONGSBERG’s international teams and gain first-hand experience with our global manufacturing processes and standards.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
