The role will support engineering, deployment, commissioning and ongoing management of complex telecommunications infrastructure, including FTTP/FTTB fibre networks, GPON/XGS-PON, OLTs, ONTs, active Ethernet, switching, routing, Wi-Fi and managed broadband services.

This is a hands-on engineering role. The successful candidate will be able to independently trace a fault through the full network chain, from customer premises through the ONT, fibre, splitter and OLT to the switch, router and carrier, and resolve it without supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, review and troubleshoot fibre optic networks, including active Ethernet deployments, optical power testing and OTDR interpretation
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT and routing
- Work closely with project managers, developers and contractors, providing technical input across design,

construction and commissioning stages
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations and fault investigation reports.

Key Requirements:

- ICT30419 Certificate III in Telecommunications Network Build and Operation, or equivalent telecommunications qualification
- Extensive experience in telecommunications/network engineering at a genuine Level 3 standard
- Hands-on experience with GPON, XGS-PON, OLT provisioning and ONT/ONU configuration, not limited to installation or field support
- Strong understanding of IP networking and Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routing and IP addressing
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting switches and routers
- Current Australian driver licence, with the ability to work independently on complex technical problems.
