Clerk Grade: 7/8 ($116,981 - $129,492 plus employer's contribution to superannuation)
Location: Parramatta but flexible across NSW Fair Trading office locations. Hybrid working, which is subject to broader divisional and DCS flexible work policies.

NSW Fair Trading is the consumer protection regulator in NSW. We ensure a fair and safe marketplace for goods, services and homes in NSW. We are transforming the way we deliver services and regulatory outcomes, and we are looking for a motivated and creative Project Officer - Training Specialist to support workforce capability, business readiness and organisational change initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity to design, develop and deliver training, communication and learning solutions that support staff, stakeholders and customers through change. As well as support business readiness for change developing process and related materials for frontline teams.
About the Role
As a Project Officer - Training Specialist, you will work closely with project teams, subject matter experts and operational stakeholders to develop and implement learning and capability solutions that support business transformation initiatives.
You will:
- Develop and maintain training plans, learning resources and supporting documentation.
- Design and deliver engaging training programs, workshops and information sessions.
- Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, quick reference materials and knowledge articles.
- Coordinate training schedules, stakeholder engagement activities and learning communications.
- Monitor training completion, evaluate learning outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support change management and business readiness activities across projects and programs.
- Prepare reports, presentations and project documentation to support decision-making.
- Build productive relationships with stakeholders across the Department of Customer Service and external partners.
About You
You are an organised and proactive professional who enjoys helping people learn, adapt and succeed. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment and can translate complex information into clear and practical learning solutions.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience developing and delivering training, learning or capability programs.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear and effective learning materials.
- Project coordination and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting business change, transformation or implementation projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Confidence facilitating workshops, presentations and training sessions.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications and learning technologies.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in learning and development, workforce capability, training delivery or related project roles.
- Experience developing training resources, process documentation and communication materials.
- Ability to coordinate and support project activities, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working within government, regulatory or customer service environments is desirable.
About the team
NSW Fair Trading is transitioning to Licence NSW, a whole-of-government digital licensing platform that will make it easier for people and businesses to apply for, renew and manage licences in NSW.
This team is embedded within NSW Fair Trading and works closely with Digital NSW to support the transition. The team plays a key role in ensuring the new system supports customer-centred services, improves operational efficiency,
strengthens compliance outcomes and delivers meaningful service uplift.
