Tasmanian Helicopters is a proudly Tasmanian-owned company operating a fleet of 13 rotary aircraft across a wide range of services, including precision application, heavy lifting, fire support, powerline stringing, inspections and maintenance, aerial surveying, photography, tourism, charter, and advanced pilot training.
We pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of service. Central to our success is a robust, capable, and reliable Aircraft Support Crew.
We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic people to join our operations on a casual basis with an opportunity to become full time for the right applicant.
This role is hands‑on, varied, and often performed in challenging environments. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and problem‑solving ability are essential. Experience in chemical handling, loader driving, or mixing operations will be highly regarded, however full training will be provided for the right applicant.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Aircraft Support Manager and follow company policies and procedures.
- Support aerial operations including refuelling, chemical loading, mixing, and handling in line with safety and regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain ground support equipment including loaders, vehicles, and pumps.
- Undertake and maintain all required ground crew training in line with company requirements.
- Ensure effective communication and cooperation across all levels of the team.
- Australian Year 10 education or equivalent.
- Current Medium Rigid Driver Licence (Applicants without a truck licence will NOT be considered)
- Mechanical experience and practical knowledge.
- Reside within close proximity to our Cambridge base (No more than 20 mins to respond to base during fire season).
- Genuine interest in aviation.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in refuelling, chemical handling, mixing, or loader operations.
- Heavy Rigid Driver Licence.
- Dogging Licence and relevant experience.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Special Conditions
- Travel is an essential requirement of this position.
- Flexibility with working hours and days is essential.
- Have full working rights in Australia.
