We have been exclusively retained by an established Australian-owned Tier 2 contractor to appoint a Senior Contracts Administrator to support the delivery of a major Defence project.

With almost 50 years’ experience, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering major civil, infrastructure and Defence projects, particularly across remote and regional Australia.

The contractor delivers projects across Defence, roads, earthworks, bridges, drainage, utilities, airfields and remote civil construction, with a portfolio ranging from smaller packages through to major projects valued at $150M+.

Their Defence portfolio includes major projects across the Northern Territory and regional Australia, with individual projects ranging from $200M to $700M+.

The prospect
This is a senior commercial position supporting the delivery of a circa $200M+ complex Defence project, with an approximate 2.5-year program and significant additional works.

Working closely with the Project Manager and senior commercial leadership team, you will take ownership of contract administration, commercial performance and risk management across the project lifecycle.

You will be responsible for:

- Head contract administration
- Subcontract administration and management
- Commercial and financial control




- Variations, claims and progress payments
- Forecasting and cost reporting
- Commercial risk management
- Procurement and subcontractor engagement
- Supporting project reporting and commercial strategy
- Working closely with Project and Senior Management

About You

- Strong experience in contract administration
- Experience managing subcontract packages
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Experience with variations, claims and progress payments
- Ability to manage commercial risk and project outcomes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership
- Experience on projects valued at $50M+ will be highly regarded
- Defence or complex infrastructure experience will be advantageous
