Staff Specialist – Rehabilitation MedicineTasmania | Major Teaching Hospital | Inpatient & Outpatient Rehabilitation Join Tasmania’s largest hospital and major referral centre, providing specialist rehabilitation care within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Sante Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine to join the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at a major Tasmanian teaching hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Rehabilitation Physician seeking a broad clinical role across inpatient and outpatient services, with the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research and ongoing service development.
The Opportunity Rehabilitation Physicians work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, helping patients optimise their function, independence and quality of life following illness, injury or significant medical events.
The Department provides a busy and varied clinical service across multiple hospital sites.
The role will provide opportunities to:

- Deliver specialist rehabilitation care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
- Assess and manage patients with a broad range of medical and rehabilitation needs.
- Work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech pathologists and other allied health professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rehabilitation planning and goal setting.
- Provide continuity of care through outpatient rehabilitation clinics.
- Develop and maintain specialist interests across a range of rehabilitation medicine areas.
- Contribute to clinical education, teaching and supervision.
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities.




- Contribute to the ongoing development of rehabilitation services.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine The Department encompasses a busy inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation service, providing specialist care across multiple hospital sites.
The inpatient service manages patients with a wide range of conditions requiring specialist rehabilitation input, while the outpatient service provides opportunities for ongoing clinical relationships and continuity of care.
The multidisciplinary structure provides an environment where Rehabilitation Physicians can work closely with experienced allied health and medical professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred rehabilitation.
Major Teaching & Research Centre The hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital and a major referral centre, providing complex tertiary and specialist services to patients from across the state.
As a major clinical teaching and research centre, the hospital collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other academic and research institutions.

Your Skills & Experience Applicants should have:





- Specialist qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine.
- Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation medicine.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A strong commitment to patient-centred care and functional outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An interest in teaching, research and service improvement.

Eligible SIMGs and internationally trained Rehabilitation Physicians are encouraged to enquire regarding their AHPRA and specialist recognition pathway.
