About the Role
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical function that sits at the heart of our supply chain. Leading transport operations across multiple distribution centres, carrier partners and freight networks, you'll drive service performance, commercial outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact our customers and business success.
Working closely with Distribution Centre leaders, Commercial, Finance and Continuous Improvement teams, you'll influence transport strategy, optimise carrier partnerships, negotiate national freight agreements and lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency across Australia and New Zealand. If you're a transport subject matter expert who thrives in a rapid-paced environment, enjoys balancing commercial performance with customer outcomes and wants the autonomy to make a genuine impact, this role offers the perfect platform to do so.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and execute the transport and freight strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
- Lead carrier and 3PL selection, contract negotiations and ongoing performance management.
- Oversee domestic and international freight operations to ensure service excellence.
- Manage transport budgets, freight costs and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
- Drive transport performance through data analysis, reporting and network optimisation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across transport and supply chain operations.
- Optimise transport management systems and order management capabilities.
- Manage returns freight processes, service standards and cost controls.
- Coach, develop and lead a high-performing transport team.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, safety legislation and transport standards.

What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience in transport, logistics, freight or supply chain management.
- Strong experience managing national carrier networks and third-party logistics providers.
- Proven success negotiating transport agreements, contracts and commercial outcomes.
- Deep understanding of Chain of Responsibility and transport compliance requirements.
- Experience managing freight budgets, cost optimisation programs and service performance metrics.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within multi-site operational environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
- A proactive, autonomous leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Experience across retail, apparel, consumer goods, distribution or complex supply chain environments highly regarded.
