Greater Western Aboriginal Health Service (GWAHS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation committed to empowering Aboriginal people to take control of their health and wellbeing through culturally safe, holistic, and community-led care. We deliver a range of clinical and community programs across Western Sydney, Nepean, and the Blue Mountains.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and respectful Transport Officer to coordinate and provide transport services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. You will help clients travel safely and on time to medical appointments, support the delivery of medications and essential items, and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the Mount Druitt clinic.

This role suits someone who is organised, community-minded and committed to providing a skilled, culturally safe client experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Transport clients safely and on time to and from medical appointments, including urgent pick-ups when directed.
- Collect and deliver medications, pathology items, supplies and equipment within required timeframes.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate transport bookings and client information in Best Practice.
- Provide respectful assistance and support to clients during their visit.
- Keep transport vehicles clean, complete vehicle logbooks and promptly report damage or maintenance issues.




- Use vehicles and petrol cards in accordance with GWAHS policies and procedures.
- Work closely with reception and clinic teams and complete reports and administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain strict privacy, confidentiality, work health and safety, and incident-reporting requirements.

About You

- You communicate confidently and respectfully with clients, colleagues and community stakeholders.
- You are organised, punctual and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- You understand the issues affecting Aboriginal people and communities and demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- You can maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and diplomacy.
- You are comfortable using technology and have sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- You are flexible, adaptable and willing to undertake training and professional development.

Compliance Requirements

- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Current Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Confirmation of Aboriginality

Desirable

- Previous experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO)
- Experience using Best Practice
