About OzHarvest:

OzHarvest is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.

About the role:

Please note: internal applicants will be prioritised for this role.

We are on the look-out for an organised, safety-focused person to run the day-to-day of our Sunshine Coast warehouse. As Warehouse Coordinator, you’ll be the one who keeps rescued food moving — receiving donations, sorting and storing them safely, keeping the site clean and well-ordered, and welcoming recipient agencies when they arrive to collect.

This is a part-time role, 2 days per week (days to be confirmed).

No two days look the same. One moment you’re checking a pallet of chilled stock against food safety standards, the next you’re booking in a cool room service call or showing a new volunteer how the site works. You’ll report to our Queensland Safety, Fleet and Warehouse Lead and work closely with our Brisbane and Gold Coast Warehouse Coordinators, our logistics and food rescue team, our drivers, and our volunteers.

If you like a site that runs properly, take safety seriously, and want your work to land somewhere real at the end of the day, we need you!

The successful candidate will:

- Be organised and proactive, with the time management skills to juggle collections, deliveries and site upkeep without things clashing.
- Have experience in warehouse or logistics operations,

and either know your way around a walkie stacker and pallet racking or be keen to be trained.
- Take safety seriously — for our people, our premises and our equipment — with an understanding of WHS obligations (or a willingness to learn).
- Be physically fit and able to manage the lifting, loading and equipment operation the role involves.
- Be a warm and professional first point of contact for the recipient agencies and food donors who come through our doors.
- Hold a current full Driver Licence, and a current First Aid Certificate — or be willing to obtain one, as you’ll be our nominated First Aid Officer on site.
- Bring an energetic, positive and friendly vibe to the team.
- Chain of Responsibility knowledge — desirable.

To apply:

Internal applicants will be prioritised for this role. If you’re already part of the OzHarvest team, please apply through the online process and let us know in your cover letter that you’re an internal applicant.

Please complete the online application process and attach your CV along with a cover letter that includes a brief message explaining “Why you would like to work at OzHarvest and in this role,” (creativity encouraged!) as well as your availability / preferred working days.

Please note that only applications with a cover letter addressing the question above will be shortlisted.

**Applications close 25th September

OzHarvest is proud to be an equal chance employer that supports diversity, inclusion and belonging. Please note: If you have a Language or Cultural special consideration, a disability or impairment or use assistive technology, please let us know in your Cover Letter when applying. You can ask a support person to help you through the application and interview process.
