About you The role will suit someone who has worked with First Nations people and supported access to work, training and career development. If you have worked on the CDP, RAES Government Projects this could be beneficial. The role is diverse and requires someone who can be adaptable and wants to work closely with community to deliver employment pathways. You need to be comfortable working outside the office, visiting community and working as part of an integrated team.
About the role
This role will look to address all the priority areas of the Remote Jobs and Economic Development Program (RJED). Its aim is to support First Nations people on the pathway to employment and empower First Nations people in the workforce, strengthening financial literacy and addressing the challenges in maintaining employment for First Nations people. The program activities will include access to employment, basic workplace skills training, on the job training, mentoring and financial literacy support.
The support will cover both pre and post-employment support, working closely with the People & Culture Coordinator and the Financial Literacy Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support programs that support First Nations people in gaining employment
- Recruitment support
- Support both future and current First Nations staff employed within Children's Ground Central Australia office
- Provide individual support and mentorship
- Support participation in Governance to enable staff to engage in organisational decision making
- Coordinate and facilitate workshops to ensure success on the job
- Pre and early employment support
- Coordinate with the hiring divisional Heads to establish and maintain workplans
- Meet regularly with local First Nations people to discuss local aspirations; this will inform the directions and responsibilities of the role
- Work closely with the Financial Literacy Officer with matters relating to MyGov, Taxation, "money story
- Monitoring and evaluation - maintaining records including data collection and program reporting
- Connect and maintain relationships with job providers in Alice Springs
Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Experience working with First Nations people/community
- Recruitment, training and/or support background
- Mentoring and coaching skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple locations
- High-level organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems
- Current Drivers License and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and NT Working with Children Clearance

Salary Classification: Children's Ground EBA Level 3.4 $86,871 + 12% superannuation + bonus leave
