About the Position

n

The Financial Accountant will take responsibility for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the accuracy and timeliness of the organisation's financial information.

n

With exposure across month-end, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory requirements, payroll accounting, forecasting and financial reporting, this role offers variety and the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business.

n

You will also play an active role in identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems, making this an ideal position for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on and wants to have a tangible impact beyond the numbers.

Duties

n

n
- Manage the month-end close process and coordinate key reporting deadlines
n
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts and overheads
n
- Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts and associated master data
n




- Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure accounting records remain accurate and up to date
n
- Prepare monthly IAS and BAS obligations across the relevant entities
n
- Coordinate the annual FBT return and assist with other statutory requirements
n
- Process monthly payroll journals, accruals and associated accounting entries
n
- Assist with monthly and annual financial statement preparation
n
- Partner with managers on budgeting, forecasting and monitoring business performance
n
- Analyse costs and financial information, highlighting potential risks and opportunities
n
- Work with external auditors, financial institutions and other regulatory stakeholders
n
- Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve systems
n
- Provide support across the wider Finance function and contribute to ad hoc projects
n

About You

n

You will be an experienced Financial Accountant who enjoys variety and is comfortable working across both the detail and the broader commercial picture.

n

This role will suit someone who is naturally curious, takes accountability for their work and enjoys working with people outside of Finance. You'll be confident managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will have:

n

n
- CA or CPA qualification
n
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or comparable accounting position
n
- Industry experience, with manufacturing or FMCG experience highly regarded
n
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and an understanding of month-end processes
n
- Experience across reconciliations, financial reporting and statutory compliance
n
- Strong Excel capability and confidence working across accounting systems
n
- SAP Business One experience would be advantageous, although not essential
n
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
n
- A practical, proactive approach and willingness to get involved across the business
n
- An interest in improving processes, systems and ways of working
