Job Description
Choco Up is Asia-Pacific's premier technology and financial services platform, pioneering zero-equity growth financing and intelligent business solutions for digital merchants and SMEs.
n
Recognized by CNBC, Tech in Asia and Statista as one of the Top Fintech Companies in Alternative Financing, Choco Up uses data analytics and machine intelligence to automate non-dilutive funding, allowing businesses to scale without giving up equity.
n
Operating across Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, we provide a complete growth ecosystem of strategic capital, real-time analytics, and global payment solutions.
n
We're looking for an experienced Collections Specialist based in Sydney to manage a portfolio of commercial lending and trade finance accounts across the debt lifecycle, from early follow-up through to structured recovery on more complex, later-stage cases. This is a commercial/SME-focused collections role, not high-volume consumer collections: you'll be managing a smaller number of higher-value, more bespoke accounts that require judgment and relationship management as much as process discipline.
n
How you will make an impact:
n
n
- Manage a portfolio of commercial lending and trade finance accounts across all stages of arrears, from early-stage follow-up through late-stage recovery.
n
- Proactively contact customers to resolve overdue balances, negotiating realistic repayment plans and structured resolutions.
n
- Assess each account's circumstances and apply judgment on the right recovery approach, escalation path, or hardship accommodation.
n
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date account records and collection notes in the loan management system.
n
- Identify early risk signals across the portfolio and flag complex, high-risk, or dispute cases to the Business Lead.
n
- Liaise with internal stakeholders on accounts requiring escalation, restructuring, or legal recovery.
n
- Ensure all collections activity is conducted in line with responsible lending practices and applicable regulatory obligations.
n
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of collections workflows, templates, and communication approaches as the function scales.
n
n
What makes you a great fit:
n
n
- 3–5 years' experience in collections, credit, or recoveries within an unsecured lending firm or alternate financing industry.
n
- Working knowledge of Australian responsible lending and debt collection obligations.
n
- Confident, empathetic negotiator and comfortable holding difficult conversations while maintaining a solutions-focused, qualified tone.
