The Academic Director provides leadership in the efficient, effective and equitable operation of the Academic department in the development and delivery of its programs. The role is also responsible for developing strong links with key staff at partner Universities and for performance in teaching and learning.

The Academic Director is responsible for:

- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of creative teaching and learning policies, practices and strategies
- Provide leadership in the development of program profiles and curriculum development
- Ensure established learning and teaching aims and objectives are achieved as per the annual Learning & Teaching Plan
- Foster excellence in learning and teaching, including the development of innovative and flexible approaches which support the diversity of students within the College/Campus
- Maintain effective processes for assuring the quality of learning and teaching
- Provide leadership and effective management in the areas of student support,



student engagement and student retention
- Manage staff and resources efficiently and effectively in the pursuit of high quality outcomes, in keeping with the College/Campus strategic and learning & teaching Plans
- Foster engagement and strong relationships with University partners
- Ensure governance structures and policy frameworks which promote rigorous academic quality assurance
- processes and conform to the regulatory environment in which the College/Campus operates
- Undertake academic staff planning and management

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications at the postgraduate level in a discipline relevant to one of those offered by the College/Campus
- Demonstrated excellence in leadership and management within a higher education environment, including an ability to build strong, sustainable teams, manage resources within a budget and coordinate a broad range of academic functions
- Substantial experience in curriculum development, including the management and evaluation of learning and teaching effectiveness
- Demonstrated experience in effective teaching including ability to develop scholarly, innovative and flexible approaches to teaching and facilitation of learning




- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire students and staff
- Proven success in working collaboratively and an ability to build highly productive relationships across a range of internal and external partners
