Our client is an established and award-winning Australian business within the agriculture sector, with operations across domestic and international markets.

They are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer with strong payroll experience to join their finance team. Payroll will form a key part of the position, alongside accounts payable, reconciliations and broader month-end support.

The RoleReporting into the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function while supporting broader transactional finance responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include

- Managing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 75 employees
- Processing payroll from timesheet and roster review through to finalisation, reconciliations and reporting
- Managing Single Touch Payroll, payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and end-of-year payroll requirements
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Awards and legislation, including overtime, allowances and public holiday entitlements
- Reconciling payroll hours and proactively following up managers regarding roster and shift approvals
- Responding to employee queries and maintaining accurate payroll records
- Managing accounts payable inbox, including invoice processing and supplier reconciliations
- Assisting with bank reconciliations, receipt allocation and customer statements
- Supporting month-end and year-end reconciliations and payroll reporting





About YouThis role will suit an experienced Accounts or Payroll Officer who enjoys taking ownership of payroll while maintaining broader exposure across finance.

You will ideally bring

- Proven end-to-end payroll experience
- Hands-on experience with STP, payroll tax and superannuation
- Sound knowledge of Awards and Australian payroll legislation
- Experience with payroll reconciliations and end-of-year processes
- Accounts payable and broader transactional finance experience
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills
- Confidence following up managers and resolving payroll discrepancies
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to keep processes moving
- Experience across payroll and accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and FoundU exposure would be advantageous
