We're seeking a dedicated After Hours Compliance Officer to join our team and play a vital role in responding to animal management matters across the region.
What You Will Do:
As an After Hours Compliance Officer, you will be the first point of response for animal-related matters outside of normal business hours. Your work will support the community through proactive patrols, responsive investigations, and by educating the public on responsible animal ownership.
Your key purpose will be to:
- Undertake regular patrols and conduct investigations in accordance with Local Laws and relevant legislation
- Respond to and investigate alleged breaches of Animal Management laws
- Provide education, advice, and support to the community to promote compliance and responsible behaviour
Whether attending urgent incidents, gathering evidence, or helping reunite lost pets with their owners, you will play a vital role in protecting both the public and our animal community.
What We Are Looking For:
- Current “C” class driver’s licence with the ability to independently drive between business locations to meet operational needs.
- Knowledge of or ability to interpret and understand Council’s Local Laws and the Animal Management (Cats & Dogs) Act 2008 and other legislation specific to Animal Management.
- High level of written skills including the ability to draft reports and routine correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability and physical capacity to undertake a variety of strenuous physical tasks.
- Ability to handle animals, in particular, dogs, cats and horses with understanding of capture techniques.
- Ability to understand and assess dangerous animal behaviour.
- Ability to relate in a courteous and diplomatic manner, particularly in dispute situations.
