Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

As part of our growing team, we're seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to transform complex data into actionable insights that support critical business and operational decisions.

About the Role

Downer Professional Services is seeking an experienced Agile Lead to support a major Defence Digital Group program. This role is responsible for coaching and empowering agile delivery teams, driving continuous improvement, and enabling the successful delivery of complex ICT capabilities within a large-scale government environment.

Working across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, you will play a key role in fostering agile maturity, improving delivery predictability, and supporting the achievement of critical business and operational outcomes.

What You'll Do

As the Agile Lead, you will guide teams in the adoption and continuous improvement of agile practices, helping to create high-performing and self-organising delivery environments. You will work closely with Product Owners, delivery teams, leadership and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, transparency, and successful program outcomes.

Key responsibilities include

- Coach, mentor and support agile teams in the application of agile principles, practices and ways of working.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Program Increment (PI) Planning, iteration planning, reviews, retrospectives and team alignment sessions.
- Identify and remove delivery impediments, manage dependencies, and support effective flow of work.




- Develop and maintain delivery metrics and reporting to provide insights into team performance, predictability, flow and agile maturity.
- Foster collaboration across teams, stakeholders and governance forums to support successful program delivery.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives, action planning and outcome tracking.
- Support Product Owners and delivery teams with prioritisation, planning and delivery transparency.
- Drive effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to organisational agile capability uplift through mentoring, coaching and Communities of Practice.

About You You are a passionate Agile practitioner with a strong track record supporting complex ICT delivery environments. You excel at coaching teams, influencing stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across large-scale programs.

Essential Experience

- Solid experience supporting Agile product delivery teams within complex ICT environments.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and enabling high-performing delivery teams.
- Proven ability to coach teams, leaders and stakeholders in Agile principles and practices.
- Experience managing delivery risks, dependencies and impediments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience using Agile metrics and reporting to improve delivery outcomes.
- Experience working within Australian Federal Government environments.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes in complex and time-constrained settings.
- Extensive experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary ICT teams.

Desirable Experience





- Experience working within SAFe Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
- Experience supporting large-scale Agile transformation and delivery environments.
- Experience working with Product Owners, Product Managers and delivery leadership teams.
- Demonstrated success fostering collaborative, high-performing team cultures.

Qualifications

- Tertiary qualification in ICT, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master, SAFe Release Train Engineer, or equivalent Agile certification.
- Agile Coaching, Enterprise Coaching, or comparable Agile facilitation certification.
