Role
Join the Permanent Nursing and Midwifery Pool at Redland Hospital and play an important role in delivering protected, compassionate and person-centred care across Bayside Health Service. As an Assistant in Nursing, you will:
- Support Registered Nurses in providing direct and indirect person-centred care, working within your education, training and level of competence.
- Assist with delegated patient care, observe and report patient needs and contribute to the effective day-to-day functioning of the ward or unit.
- Help maintain a safe, clean and well-organised clinical environment, including restocking clinical stores, checking equipment and completing other ward duties as required.
- Work collaboratively as part of the healthcare team, demonstrating flexibility, accountability, integrity and compassionate communication with patients, families and colleagues.
About You We are looking for compassionate and team-focused individuasl who are committed to providing high-quality care and contributing positively to the patient experience. You will bring:
- A genuine commitment to delivering safe, respectful and compassionate person-centred care, with the ability to build rapport with patients and demonstrate empathy.
- The ability to work effectively under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, accept delegated duties and confidently seek guidance when required.
- A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn unit routines, maintain competencies and participate in ongoing education and development.
- Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for patients, carers and colleagues.

Unit Profile The Permanent Nursing and Midwifery Pool is a unique unit within Bayside Health Service.
Permanent
Pool staff are rostered on a 4-week roster and are expected to work all 3 shifts on a rotating roster. Staff are then assigned to areas throughout the hospital to cover emergent leave on the wards.
