About the role

This is a full-time position for someone with strong technical skills, a passion for quality food, and the ability to thrive in a busy, team-oriented kitchen. As Assistant Kitchen Manager, you'll play a key role in maintaining the quality, consistency and creativity of our menu, while helping to develop a strong, capable kitchen team for the long term.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing, cooking and plating dishes to a high standard
- Leading and supporting the kitchen team during service
- Training, mentoring and developing team members, with a focus on long-term growth
- Building and maintaining training systems, recipe specs and kitchen procedures
- Keeping the kitchen clean,



safe and organised
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Placing orders and managing stock rotation (FIFO)
- Working within budget and meeting food cost, labour cost and wastage targets
- Rostering and scheduling the team in line with labour budgets
- Supporting the Kitchen Manager with day-to-day operations and financial performance
- Working closely with the team to deliver fast-paced, consistent service

About you We're after someone who brings a can-do attitude, enjoys working as part of a fast-paced team, and is motivated, proactive and professional. You'll be a great fit if you have:

- A relevant diploma qualification
- At least 1 year's experience in a similar role
- The flexibility to work a roster including nights and weekends
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently without supervision
- The ability to thrive under pressure as part of a high-energy team
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
