Position Information

Woy Woy Public School is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative and visible Assistant Principal to join our dynamic executive team. The successful applicant will provide strong instructional leadership, supporting high-quality teaching and learning, curriculum implementation and improved outcomes for all students.

The role requires a leader with demonstrated capacity to build staff capability, promote high expectations and support the diverse learning, wellbeing and behavioural needs of students within an inclusive school setting.

As a member of the executive team, the Assistant Principal will contribute to whole-school improvement priorities, student and staff wellbeing, effective school operations and positive partnerships with families and the wider school community.

The successful applicant will be an approachable, adaptable and solution-focused leader who demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, Aboriginal education and the values and vision of Woy Woy Public School.

Selection Criteria

In addition to the general criteria, approval to teach infants/primary

- Demonstrated leadership in developing high-quality programs using explicit, evidence-based teaching practices, driving whole school improvement through data analysis.
- Highly visible leadership with demonstrated capacity to lead student-centred practices and whole school processes, resulting in enhanced student engagement and a working partnership with the wider community.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to lead, mentor and inspire both experienced and early career staff, fostering a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement and positive collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a positive, inclusive and equitable school culture through proactive wellbeing practices and skilled management of complex student behaviour.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum,



assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching prospect.

Additional Information Woy Woy Public School is an inclusive Preschool to Year 6 school located on the Southern Central Coast. Our diverse school community includes more than 20% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and we work in strong partnership with the Koorana AECG to promote cultural connection, belonging and achievement.

The school includes 14 mainstream classes, seven support classes and Guliyali Preschool, which provides a five-day fortnight program for 40 children.
