About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for Associate Genetic Counsellors to join ACT Genetic Service, a specialist service providing genetic counselling and support to individuals and families with a personal or family history of genetic conditions.

This role offers the chance to work across diverse clinical settings while contributing to a highly regarded genetics program.

As an Associate Genetic Counsellor, under the guidance of senior genetic counsellors, you will provide genetic counselling services appropriate to your level of experience. You will undertake genetic counselling assessments and interventions, support clients and families to understand genetic information and risk, collaborate with healthcare professionals, maintain clinical records, and contribute to service development and quality improvement activities.

In this role, you will benefit from the ongoing professional development, collaboration with experienced genetic and healthcare professionals, and the chance to contribute to the growing field of genomics. The position also provides a varied and rewarding work environment,



including clinic-based, community and telehealth service delivery, enabling you to develop a broad range of skills while supporting clients across the ACT.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy, (Category A).
- Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.

Note: This is a temporary position available for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will remain valid for 12 months. This pool may be used to fill similar roles/ future vacant positions at the same level across CHS.
