Everyday Lover | Trinity Park, Cairns

We’re looking for an experienced barista to join the team at Everyday Lover.

We take our coffee seriously, without taking ourselves too seriously. We’re a busy neighbourhood café and wine bar in Trinity Park, with a strong focus on great coffee, good food, friendly service and creating a space people genuinely enjoy coming back to.

We’re looking for someone who understands specialty coffee, works well in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in every cup that leaves the bar.

The role

You’ll be responsible for

- Dialling in and monitoring coffee throughout service to maintain consistency and quality
- Preparing espresso-based drinks to a high standard, including confident latte art
- Understanding and following brew recipes, including dose, yield, grind, extraction time and temperature
- Preparing batch brew and other specialty coffee offerings
- Opening, maintaining and cleaning coffee equipment
- Keeping the coffee bar clean, organised and ready for service
- Working efficiently during busy periods without sacrificing quality
- Communicating clearly with the wider FOH team and reading the flow of service
- Providing friendly, relaxed and attentive customer service
- Helping maintain Everyday Lover’s standards across presentation, cleanliness and service

What we’re looking for




- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a barista, preferably in a specialty coffee environment
- Strong understanding of espresso extraction and coffee preparation
- Knowledge of coffee origins and processing methods
- Ability to develop and adjust brew recipes
- Confident latte art and strong drink presentation
- Good understanding of current specialty coffee culture
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume workplace
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Friendly, approachable and confident with customers
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and cleaning requirements
- Availability across weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about coffee, takes ownership of their section and enjoys being part of a strong team.

Salary: $72,000 per year
