About the role The Branch Assistant is responsible for ensuring all equipment moving through the Bundaberg branch is thoroughly inspected, well maintained, and presented to the highest standard — both on return from hire and before it is dispatched to the next customer. This role directly supports branch profitability by identifying damage, maintenance needs, and presentation issues early, and by delivering a positive, skilled experience for customers collecting or returning equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect machinery upon return from hire to identify any damage, faults, or maintenance requirements
- Assist customers with equipment pick-ups and drop-offs while providing excellent customer service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised yard,
including general housekeeping and lawn maintenance
- Assist the workshop mechanic with repairs, servicing, and other workshop duties as required
- Ensure all equipment is presented professionally and ready for hire at all times
About you
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify basic equipment issues
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for manual work
- Experience with machinery or equipment hire is desirable but not essential
