We are a growing manufacturer in the caravan and RV industry, specialising in high-quality structural panel systems. We are seeking a practical and detail-focused CAD Design Engineer to support the design, development, and continuous improvement of our panel products.
This is a hands-on engineering role where designs move directly into production. Therefore, manufacturability, accuracy, and problem-solving are critical.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop panel systems and structural components.
- Produce accurate CAD drawings and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, safe, and cost-effective.
- Work closely with production teams.
- Support troubleshooting and design improvements in production.
- Manage design changes and revision control.
- Identify risks in materials, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
- Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Solid CAD skills (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Inventor/Fusion preferred)
- Practical mindset with understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience with panel systems, composites, or structural design (advantage)
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with production teams.
Skills test Shortlisted candidates will complete a practical assessment involving interpretation of a production order and conversion into a basic CAD drawing. This will test your ability to identify design risks, apply manufacturability principles, and demonstrate clear engineering judgement.
