With our exciting new store opening at Gasworks Brisbane, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Cafe Manager to take the lead and help build something special from day one.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Cafe Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the venue, leading from the front and setting the standard for your team.

This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside their team and making sure the café runs smoothly every day.

A key part of your role will be building the café into a genuine part of the local community. We want our guests to feel recognised, welcomed and valued every time they visit.

You will be responsible for:

- Leading and motivating the team to deliver genuine hospitality and exceptional service
- Managing the daily operations of the café
- Getting to know our regular guests, acknowledging them by name and remembering their preferences
- Building strong relationships with our local community and turning first-time visitors into loyal regulars
- Creating an environment where guests feel welcomed, recognised and genuinely valued
- Ensuring consistently high standards across coffee, food, service,



cleanliness and presentation
- Recruiting, training and developing team members
- Creating a positive, energetic and supportive workplace culture
- Managing rosters, labour costs and daily wage control
- Monitoring food costs, wastage and stock control
- Driving sales and achieving financial and operational targets
- Managing guest feedback and using it to continually improve the business
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors
- Overseeing maintenance and ensuring the venue is clean, safe and well presented
- Leading by example and being actively involved in service
- Supporting the successful launch and ongoing growth of the new Gasworks venue

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for someone who genuinely loves hospitality and understands that great cafés are built through great people and strong relationships with their guests.

You will ideally have

- Previous Cafe Manager, Restaurant Manager or Hospitality Management experience
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- A hands-on approach to management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong understanding of café operations and financial management
- Experience with rostering, labour control and cost management
- A passion for coffee, food and genuine hospitality
- A natural ability to connect with people and build genuine relationships with guests




- An understanding of the importance of regular customers and building long-term customer loyalty
- The ability to recruit, train and develop a strong team
- A positive, energetic and solutions-focused attitude
- The ability to remain calm and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A strong understanding of cleanliness, food safety and workplace standards
