We’re excited as the current owners of an established local dog care business, bringing fresh energy, new ideas and an even bigger focus on creating an amazing experience for every dog that walks through our doors. Z & B Canine Care took over Dogoverboard at 1/10 William Street, Adamstown in November 2025, and we’re looking for the right person to join our team as we continue to grow and develop the business.

We are seeking a reliable, energetic and caring Canine Carer who genuinely loves dogs and takes pride in providing a high standard of care.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving bathing and grooming assistance, dog care, daycare support, cleaning, laundry and customer service. No two days are exactly the same, so we’re looking for someone who is flexible, takes initiative and is happy to get involved wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities

Bathing & Grooming

● Bathing and thoroughly drying dogs

● Brushing and de-shedding dogs

● Nail trimming

● Basic grooming and coat-care tasks

● Preparing dogs before and after grooming services

● Safely handling and reassuring dogs during bathing and grooming

● Keeping bathing and grooming areas clean, organised and ready for use

Cleaning and Laundry

● Cleaning and sanitising dog areas, equipment and workspaces

● Cleaning up after dogs throughout the day

● Washing and disinfecting bowls, toys and other equipment

● Completing laundry, including washing, drying, folding and organising towels and bedding

● General cleaning, tidying and maintaining high hygiene standards throughout the workplace

Dog Care & Daycare

● Assisting with the supervision and care of daycare dogs





● Providing enrichment, play, exercise and individual attention

● Safely handling dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments

● Monitoring canine behaviour, health and general wellbeing

● Following individual care requirements and workplace procedures

Customer Service

● Greeting and assisting clients in a friendly and professional manner

● Helping with dog drop-offs and collections

● Communicating confidently and appropriately with clients about their dogs

● Serving customers and assisting with general front-of-house duties when required

● Helping create a welcoming and positive experience for both our human and canine clients

Previous experience working with dogs, including in dog daycare, grooming, boarding, kennels, veterinary clinics or other animal-care environments, would be highly regarded. However, training may be provided to the right person with the right attitude and willingness to learn.

What to Expect

This is an active, physical and hands-on role. You’ll be on your feet for much of the day and regularly working around water, dog hair, cleaning products, barking dogs and, of course, the occasional mess!

In return, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with dogs every day, build your practical canine care and grooming skills, and become part of an exciting new chapter for Z & B Canine Care.

Hours & Availability

This is a full-time position, working 8:30am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays from 9:00am–4:00pm. Applicants must be available to work these hours, including rostered Saturdays.
