About the role

One Life Medical is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in Alexandra Hills, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexibility and variety in a dynamic medical environment. As a Casual Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care across general medical and surgical settings, working alongside our dedicated healthcare professionals.

This role is essential in ensuring our patients receive compassionate, evidence-based nursing care whilst maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.

What you'll be doing

- Providing direct patient care including Health Assessments, Care Plans, wound care, immunisations, Cardiac testing etc
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and patient safety at all times
- Assisting with procedures, examinations and investigations as required
- Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with accreditation standards
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families to provide support and reassurance
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitoring and reporting patient condition changes to medical staff promptly
- Ensuring patient comfort, hygiene and dignity at all times
- Adhering to infection control procedures and health and safety protocols
- Contributing to a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff
- Stock Management and ordering
- Managing patient recall and reminder systems

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
- Qualification as a Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program
- Demonstrated experience in general practice nursing settings
- Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient safety protocols and infection control standards




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and healthcare teams
- Proficiency in electronic health records and medical documentation systems
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it
- Ability to work flexibly across varying shift patterns as a casual employee
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to prioritise patient care in busy environments
- Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice
- Physical ability to perform nursing duties including patient lifting and mobilisation
