About The Role
Surgical 3D Inpatient Unit provides comprehensive surgical care, including pre-operative and post-operative management for patients undergoing gastrointestinal (GI), orthopaedic, vascular and general surgical procedures. The unit also cares for ICU step-down patients, offering nurses exposure to a diverse and clinically rewarding patient population.
As a RN, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care while working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and developing individualised care plans.
- Implementing and evaluating nursing interventions in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) standards.
- Providing safe and compassionate pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Monitoring patients' clinical conditions and responding appropriately to changes in their health status.
- Coordinating care and communicating effectively with patients, families and the broader healthcare team.
- Supporting patients to achieve their health, recovery and wellbeing goals.
- Supervising and mentoring Enrolled Nurses (ENs).
- Delegating duties appropriately and within each team member's scope of practice.
- Contributing to a positive, respectful and collaborative team culture.

About You
You will bring a strong commitment to high-quality care and a passion for helping people maintain their health, independence, and dignity. You will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse (Division 2), including qualifications for medication administration (inc. IV).
- Clinical experience relevant and applicable to Surgical nursing.
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to prioritise and organise your workload effectively.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust.
