District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for a dedicated Senior Social Worker to be an essential part of our Sexual Assault Service team.

About The Opportunity The Senior Social Worker in the Sexual Assault Service (SAS) supports and provides integrated psychosocial (counselling), medical and forensic responses to adults and children who have experienced Sexual Assault. Interventions and support for children and families displaying problematic or harmful sexual behaviours and consultation, and education for professionals and community partners.

The Senior Social Worker provides counselling to victims of sexual assault (children and adults) and their non-offending family members within a trauma informed context. This involves crisis and medium to long term counselling, court support and casework to assist recovery.

In This Role You Will

- Work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within Violence, Abuse and Neglect services to ensure the development and delivery of effective and pro-active services.
- Support the ongoing development of the service, demonstrate clinical specialty, and support the development of junior staff and social work students.
- Work closely with colleagues and leadership within VAN Services and more broadly across the health service to facilitate recovery, integrated and trauma informed care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote a supportive environment.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:





- Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Advanced knowledge of the impact of trauma on children, young people and adults, and demonstrated assessment, counselling, therapy and casework experience.
- Highly developed communication skills – including, the use of verbal and non-verbal communication (oral, written and technology mediums).
- Self-motivated and skilled in time management, prioritising competing commitments, managing and responding to stressful situations and ability to work unsupervised.
- Advanced skills in building and sustaining collaborative working relationships with both internal and external partners and providing clinical leadership with partner agencies as required.
