About Us:

We are a locally owned and operated business, operating multiple cafes in Canberra. A current chef position is available at Atomic Catering, located within Questacon. The successful applicant will report to our head chef. All our chefs are given the support they need through the help and training provided by the head chef, whilst given the opportunity to impart their expertise and ideas into the business. We pride ourselves on providing high quality products and amazing customer service.

Our seasonal menus use locally sourced produce and of course Canberra's best locally roasted coffee. Our focus on high quality food and coffee, with exceptional service is what keeps our customers coming back. We are a close-knit team and always try and have fun at work. Atomic Catering is a multi-faceted business. Our core business is to operate the café inside Questacon, providing outstanding products and service to tourists, staff of Questacon and regular customers. Beyond this, we provide a range of corporate catering services and run both boutique and large-scale events. We have a particular focus on growing this aspect of the business and the successful applicant will play a vital role in helping us achieve this.

What we’re looking for:





· Assist the kitchen team in preparing and assembling a wide range of menu items, ensuring high-quality standards are met.

· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste.

· Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

· Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the health and safety of both customers and colleagues.

· Support the team in stocking ingredients, managing inventory, and performing basic food prep tasks.

· Embrace a teamwork mindset, willing to jump in and assist in various kitchen duties as needed.

· Dietary and allergy knowledge

· Experience in a high-volume kitchen
