About The Client The Pizza Hot Spot in Corio, VIC is looking for an experienced Chef to join their team. They are always looking for current and creative ways to excite their customers in terms of food taste, quality and presentation.

The Role

This is a full-time role with an annual salary set at $80,000, depending on experience plus superannuation. The role is based in Corio in VIC.

The Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of Pizza, Pasta and other Italian dishes, focusing on fresh, handmade dough, authentic sauces, Pizza base, and high-quality, fresh toppings, including non-vegetarian options such as chicken, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Ensure all ingredients used are fresh, stored properly, and handled in accordance with food safety standards to prevent contamination and maintain the highest quality of dishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, ensuring all cooking stations are ready for service, supporting smooth operations during busy periods, and minimizing downtime.
- Consistently monitor food quality and presentation during preparation and service to meet restaurant standards and customer expectations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assisting in the creation and development of new menu items, incorporating customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- Operating various kitchen appliances, including combi ovens, deep fryers, grills, mixers, and blenders, to prepare a diverse range of dishes.
- Assist with inventory management by ordering food supplies as necessary, ensuring stock levels are adequate and keeping track of inventory to prevent shortages or overstock.




- Adhere to strict food safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure an efficient and seamless dining experience, coordinating efforts to manage kitchen operations and ensure timely service.
- Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance on best practices for food preparation, kitchen safety, and cleanliness, ensuring staff are trained in maintaining consistency in food quality and service standards.
- Regularly review and refine kitchen processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance food quality, staying updated with culinary trends to incorporate innovative techniques and menu ideas.

The Requirements To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:

- Relevant qualifications in cookery or hospitality
- Has a least 12 months experience working in a commercial kitchen
- At least 12 months experience of menu planning and new dish planning
- At least 12 months experience in preparing food to dietary restrictions
- At least 12 months experience in preparing pizza dough and sauces from scratch
- Must know how and have at least 12 months pizza cooking experience using pizza oven
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Experience supervising staff
- Ability to manage stock and par levels within budget
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Is punctual and able to follow instructions
- Maintains a clean and sanitized work area
- Shares a passion for the hospitality industry
