WA Child Safety Services (WACSS) is Western Australia’s specialist provider of child safety education and training and a service arm of the community-based charity, Caring Communities.
We are seeking a passionate Child Safety Trainer to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (15 hours per week).
About the Role
This newly created position delivers the Protective Behaviours Program to children and young people through individual and sibling-based sessions. The role is based in Malaga, with travel across the Perth metropolitan area and occasional regional travel.
This position is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of ongoing/permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver WACSS’s suite of programs to children, teenagers, adults, parents, and professionals across a range of locations, including schools, childcare centres, and community settings
- Deliver individual one to one Protective Behaviours education sessions to children and sibling groups, tailoring sessions to meet individual needs
- Prepare and utilise teaching resources
- Deliver programs in line with WACSS policies and procedures
- Maintain records and prepare reports
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Solid experience in Child Protection, Protective Behaviours and child safety
- Working with Children Check & National Police Clearance
- Driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
