ABOUT THE ROLE

St Agnes’ Catholic Parish is seeking Cleaners to join our Residential Services team across Emmaus Home and St Agnes’ Residential Care.

As a Cleaner, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, clean and welcoming home for our residents. Working as part of the wider residential care team, you’ll deliver high-quality cleaning services while respecting residents’ dignity, choices, independence, cultural backgrounds and individual needs.

Casual opportunities are available, with a variety of morning, afternoon and night shifts across seven days.

The main responsibilities of the role are -

- Deliver a high standard of cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms and communal areas
- Complete routine and project cleaning in accordance with established schedules and procedures
- Follow infection prevention and control, hygiene and Work Health and Safety requirements
- Safely use, store and maintain cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies
- Manage waste in accordance with Parish policies and procedures
- Complete required cleaning records and documentation
- Monitor cleaning supplies and ensure adequate stock is maintained
- Respond to unexpected or urgent cleaning requirements as needed
- Interact with residents respectfully and support their dignity, choice, independence and individual needs

WHO YOU ARE

- Previous cleaning experience, with experience in aged care, healthcare or a similar environment highly regarded
- Knowledge of the safe use and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment (Desirable)
- The ability to self-manage your day – excellent time management and prioritisation skills required
- An energetic, positive attitude with a genuine interest in and compassion for aged people
- A strength and desire to work as part of a collaborative team and the ability to work independently
- Able to follow procedures, instructions and work systems
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn relevant systems
- A commitment to ongoing learning and development
- Commitment to work in harmony with Catholic Values and Principles
