Make your work matter every day
KSC Law is a purpose-driven legal practice dedicated to supporting Australian Defence Force veterans and their families when it matters most. We operate across complex statutory compensation and entitlement frameworks, providing clear, ethical and client-focused legal services to those who have served Australia.
As KSC Law continues to grow, we are seeking a compassionate, organised and confident Client Intake Officer to become the first point of contact for prospective clients.
This is more than an administrative role. You will help veterans and their families take the first step towards understanding their options and accessing appropriate legal support.
Who We Are
KSC Law was established to bring accountability, professionalism and compassion to veteran-focused legal services. We practise exclusively in areas connected with veteran compensation, entitlements and associated claims. Our team believes that how we communicate with clients and manage their legal matters is just as important as the outcomes we pursue.
Many people who contact KSC Law are navigating complex personal circumstances. Every enquiry must therefore be handled with patience, accuracy, empathy and professional boundaries.
The Role
As our Client Intake Officer, you will manage new enquiries and guide prospective clients through KSC Law’s intake and onboarding process. You will gather relevant information, identify the nature of each enquiry, arrange consultations and ensure that new matters are referred to the appropriate member of the legal team.
Your responsibilities will include
- Responding promptly and professionally to recent enquiries by telephone, email and online channels
- Conducting structured intake conversations with prospective clients
- Gathering accurate information about service history, accepted conditions, claims, decisions and current circumstances
- Explaining KSC Law’s services and intake process clearly, without providing legal advice
- Identifying urgent enquiries, key dates and potential review or appeal deadlines for escalation
- Conducting preliminary eligibility and suitability screening using established firm procedures
- Arranging consultations and ensuring the legal team receives a clear intake summary
- Preparing and issuing onboarding documents, costs information and client authorities
- Following up prospective clients and assisting them through the onboarding process
- Maintaining accurate and complete records in the firm’s practice management system
- Liaising with clients, government departments, medical providers and other stakeholders where required
- Supporting improvements to KSC Law’s intake procedures and overall client experience
- Handling personal, medical and service information with discretion and confidentiality
About You
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Communicate confidently and professionally by telephone and email
- Can build trust while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Listen carefully and ask clear, structured questions
- Remain calm, patient and considerate when handling sensitive or complex enquiries
- Are highly organised and capable of managing a consistent volume of enquiries
- Recognise the importance of accurate records, deadlines and follow-through
- Can distinguish between providing procedural information and giving legal advice
- Are comfortable learning new systems, processes and legislative terminology
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Take responsibility for providing each prospective client with a respectful and consistent experience
Experience in legal intake, client services, claims administration, healthcare, insurance, government, community services or veteran support will be highly regarded. Previous experience in a law firm is helpful but not essential. We are prepared to train the right person who demonstrates sound judgement, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to KSC Law’s values.
ADF service or experience working with the veteran community may be valuable, but it is not a requirement.
Why Join KSC Law
- Purpose-driven work with a direct impact on veterans and their families
- A central role in shaping the experience of every new client
- A supportive and collaborative team culture
- Structured training in veteran compensation and entitlement matters
- Genuine professional development opportunities
- Exposure to complex and evolving statutory frameworks
- Hybrid working arrangements
- A firm that values integrity, accountability, compassion and professional standards
