Yarning Crescent is an Aboriginal-led commercial cleaning business growing into transport, fleet and government contracts.
We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to manage a fleet and facilities cleaning contract in Western Sydney. This role will oversee a night crew of fleet cleaners and a day team of facility cleaners, ensuring the contract is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the contract, team performance, quality, WHS, client communication and reporting.
THE ROLE
- Manage the cleaning contract day to day, including rosters, work allocation, budgeted hours and timesheets
- Oversee night fleet cleaning and day facility cleaning teams
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure shifts are adequately covered
- Conduct documented quality inspections and monitor KPI results
- Identify quality issues and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Manage WHS requirements across the site
- Maintain SWMS and safety procedures for working around vehicles, chemicals and equipment
- Manage site inductions, incidents, licences and induction registers
- Lead, induct and coach Leading Hands, Cleaners and Certificate III trainees
- Act as the day-to-day contact for the client on site
- Maintain strong client relationships and respond to operational issues
- Prepare monthly contract reports in collaboration with the Account Manager
- Monitor cleaning stock, equipment and consumables
- Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are available and maintained
- Support continuous improvement across the contract
SHIFT & HOURS
- Full-time position
- Primarily day-based role with regular night-shift presence
- Some weekend work required
- On-call availability as required for operational matters
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Commercial cleaning experience
- At least two years' experience supervising a cleaning team of 15 or more
- Experience managing KPI- or audit-based cleaning contracts
- Solid understanding of cleaning specifications and quality standards
- Practical WHS knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using rostering, reporting and other workplace software
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence
- Right to work in Australia
- National Police Check
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS The following are highly regarded:
- Transport or fleet cleaning experience
- Certificate III in Cleaning Operations
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management
- First Aid certification
- Experience working with ISO 9001 systems
- Experience in government or large commercial contracts
