The Role We’re partnering with a leading organisation to recruit a Commercial Business Partner for an immediate 3-4 month contract based in St Leonards.
This is a highly analytical and commercially focused role, partnering closely with Operations and Delivery teams to optimise labour, utilisation and costs.
This is not a traditional accounting role — we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working with large and complex datasets, can influence stakeholders and turn analysis into practical commercial outcomes.
Responsibilities You’ll play a key role in analysing workforce and cost performance, identifying opportunities to improve utilisation and efficiency, and providing commercial insights to senior stakeholders.
- Analyse labour costs, utilisation and productivity to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Partner with Operations and Delivery leaders to optimise resource allocation and labour utilisation.
- Develop and maintain financial models and commercial reporting.
- Work with Power BI and data visualisation tools to provide meaningful insights.
- Identify and drive cost optimisation and margin improvement initiatives.
- Support workforce planning, forecasting and resourcing decisions.
- Evaluate commercial opportunities, tenders and contracts.
- Leverage AI and automation to improve reporting, modelling and analytical capability.
- Translate complex data into clear, practical recommendations for stakeholders.
About You We’re looking for a commercially minded Analyst or Business Partner who can hit the ground running and operate effectively in a quick-paced environment.
- 5+ years’ experience in a commercial operations, commercial analysis or business partnering role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets.
- Advanced Excel and strong Power BI skills.
- Strong financial modelling capability.
- Experience analysing labour costs, utilisation, workforce planning or operational performance.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance analysis, modelling or reporting.
- The ability to work under pressure and consistently deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
- A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in improving processes and finding smarter ways of working.
The Opportunity This is an exciting chance for a commercially focused Business Partner or Analyst to step into a role where your analysis will have a direct impact on operational and commercial decision-making. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Operations and Delivery, providing insights that help the business make better decisions around labour, utilisation, costs and resource planning.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key analysis and optimisation initiatives, while also introducing smarter ways of working through technology, automation and AI.
If you’re someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and influencing stakeholders — and you’re comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where deadlines and quality are critical — this could be an excellent opportunity to make an immediate impact.
