About the Opportunity

BaptistCare is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager - Residential Aged Care to join our national finance team. This is a distinctive opportunity to operate at enterprise scale, partnering with Residential Aged Care executives and operational leaders across a large and geographically dispersed portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Finance - Residential & Retirement Living, you will be a trusted commercial adviser to the business. You will help leaders understand the drivers behind performance, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and convert analysis into clear actions that improve financial and operational outcomes.

The role extends well beyond reporting. You will work across budgeting, forecasting, portfolio performance, workforce economics, funding optimisation, accommodation revenue, capital investment and business cases. You will connect financial insight with the realities of running residential aged care homes and help build stronger commercial capability across the organisation.

What You Will Bring

We are looking for a senior commercial finance professional who can operate confidently in a complex, multi-site environment. You will combine strong analytical capability with the judgement, curiosity and influence required to work alongside experienced operational leaders.

- Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline, with CA or CPA qualification
- Strong experience in commercial finance, financial business partnering or portfolio performance roles
- Demonstrated experience supporting a sizeable multi-site, multi-region or national operating portfolio
- A track record of influencing senior operational stakeholders and turning analysis into measurable action
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis and business case capability
- Experience improving commercial performance through revenue, cost, workforce,



productivity or investment initiatives
- The confidence to challenge constructively, communicate clearly and build trusted relationships
- An understanding of Residential Aged Care funding and performance drivers is highly desirable; candidates from other complex, regulated and service-based sectors with the ability to learn quickly are also encouraged to apply
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel interstate as required

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with Residential Aged Care executives and operational leaders to provide commercial advice, financial insight and strategic guidance
- Analyse performance across the national portfolio and identify the underlying drivers of variation between homes
- Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, rolling outlooks and capital expenditure planning
- Translate complex financial and operational information into clear priorities and practical actions
- Monitor and improve key drivers including occupancy, AN-ACC funding performance, accommodation revenue, care minutes, labour utilisation and agency expenditure
- Develop business cases, investment evaluations and scenario models to support strategic and operational decisions
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and work with leaders to implement and track improvement plans
- Provide meaningful performance reporting, benchmarking and commentary that strengthens accountability
- Monitor regulatory and funding changes and assess their commercial and operational implications
- Build commercial capability across the portfolio through constructive challenge, collaboration and evidence-based decision-making
