We’re looking for a Communications Officer who thrives in a busy team, has experience in government communications, and enjoys developing and delivering high-quality communications, campaign, media, and social media strategies and products.

The Communications Officer will work collaboratively with their team and across Council to ensure staff and the community are effectively informed and engaged on Council’s projects, initiatives, and services through a range of channels.

The Creative Communications Officer will write, edit, design and produce a range of products including videos, publications, social media content, online content, e-newsletters, advertising copy, scripts, media releases and responses, infographics, signage, internal communications, and promotional collateral.

About the Role

- Develop and deliver effective communication and campaign strategies aligned with Council priorities.
- Keep employees and the community informed and engaged across internal, digital, media, advertising and print channels.
- Provide timely, professional communications and engagement advice to internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate communication activities and use feedback and results to drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience
- A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field.
- Government communications experience and the ability to develop and evaluate effective communication strategies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including providing advice to senior leaders.
- Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, graphic design and video editing tools such as Canva, InDesign and Premiere Pro.




- Strong photography skills and experience producing high-quality communication content.
