About The Position
This is a permanent full-time chance, full-time positions have the option to enjoy the Rostered Day Off each month.
The primary purpose of the Community Engagement Officer role is to coordinate community awareness raising activities in the region that:
- Promotes and enhances understanding of the services offered at Medicare Mental Health including referral pathways
- Promotes early help seeking to improve access to health and other services for priority populations
- Ensures information is available to consumers, their families and the local community is accessible and easy to understand
This role is based at Tamworth and covers both the Tamworth and Armidale centres. Benefits & Perks

Skills & Experience We are looking for someone with:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences, or education
- Demonstrated experience in delivering community engagement activities that increase community awareness and reduce barriers to care for mental health consumers
- Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of consumers with mental health and/or substance use problems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
