On behalf of or clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently urgently looking for security cleared Principal Configuration Management Specialist / Technical Data Analyst.
The role is being offered as full time permanent opportunities and will be based from client's site in Adelaide.
An immediate start is on offer.
The Role:
Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring that product configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits for each project are accomplished in accordance with the configuration management system and the particular needs of individual programs.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide guidance in the development and maintenance of the configuration management system and tools.
- Identify configuration items and parts and define the systems equipment’s design architecture in the Configuration Status Accounting System.
- Identify the document sets that define each configuration item and baseline and record these in the Configuration Status Accounting System.
- Verify design document releases and changes for completeness, proper authorisation, and classification.
- Act as releasing authority for baselined design documents.
- Record As-Built configuration data in the Configuration Status Accounting System.
- Act as approval authority for configuration management deliverables.
- Support the change control process as secretary of applicable Change Boards by coordinating issues for review, commenting on change, and producing the minutes of such meetings.
- Process change control documents, deviations, and waivers for review and approval including:
- Registration in the Configuration Status Accounting System;
- Filing of relevant documentation; and,
- Dispatch of draft and formal change control documents to the customer for either technical concurrence or approval.
- Update change and document records in the Configuration Status Accounting System to reflect Change Board decisions.
- Generate Modification Incorporation Certificates to direct the implementation of approved changes.
- Provide configuration management (CM) support to product development teams and other functions.
- Provide support for product audits and reviews of software and hardware configuration items.
Experience / Skills Required:
- Previous experience and responsibility for making moderate improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance of the work area.
- Ability to manage small projects or processes within area of responsibility, as required.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management systems and engineering management systems.
- Ability to identify types of technical documents and drawings and allocate appropriate identifiers.
- Familiarity with the creation of, and allocation of data to, technical baselines.
- Ability to assign part and serial numbers.
- Ability to create an As Designed structure in the configuration management tool.
- Ability to create an As Built structure in the configuration management tool
- Ability to manage change through a Configuration Control Board.
- Ability to implement approved changes into the configuration management tool and update baselines and As Designed structures.
- Ability to produce reports from the configuration management tool.
- Ability to conduct configuration verification audits of products.
- Ability to support conduct of configuration audits.
- Understand requirements for acquisition and preparation of data including Government Furnished Information and Data, Contract Deliverables and internal publications.
- Understand the requirements for the management and control of project data, including filing, correspondence control, and classified data handling.
- Understand the requirements for the transmission and archiving of project data, including classified data
